Apricot
Apricot is grown in Armenia from the ancient times. It has its own honorable place in the Armenian culture and is considered to be one of the national symbols. The tree likes the sunlight, is drought-resistant and lives more than 50 years. Apricots are used to fight anemia and to maintain the salt balance for people suffering from cardio-vascular diseases. Due to the high concentration of sugars apricots are not recommended to people with diabetes. Using apricots increases blood hemoglobin which in its turn improves the organism's resistance to the infections. Besides, apricots improve the memory and increase the brain activity. The latter is very important for people engaged in intellectual work.
Dried apricots
Dried apricots are produced from the halves of the apricot without the bones by natural drying in the sun for a week. Usually the largest fruits are used for drying. The dried apricots have dark-orange or dark-brown color without bright shades of orange or red. This bright shades evidence the chemical treatment of the product. The peel of the apricots should not be dirty, should not have dark spots or unnatural shine and should have an elastic structure.
Besides, being used as a separate meal, the dried apricots can be used as a spice when preparing rice, meat or fish meals.
The content and the useful properties: compared to the fresh fruits, dried apricots have low concentration of vitamins, but the concentration of macro and microelements is significantly higher than that in the fresh fruits. Dried apricots normalize the blood pressure preventing its increase.
In order to get 300g of dried apricots, 1650g of fresh fruits are used. The apricots are grown on our own plantations, which are located 15 kilometers from Yerevan. Due to the innovative technology of drip irrigation, the trees get the optimal quantity of humidity. This results in ecologically clean, healthy and tasty harvest, which is then used for the production of delicious and useful dried fruits without preservatives and GMO. The apricots have to be preserved in dry, clean and cool place at a temperature of +5 to +25°С and relative humidity of no more than 70%. The shelf life of the product is 12 months.
Packing
The apricots are packed in three-layer polymer film with an aluminum base, which protects products from mold formation and maintains the freshness of the product.
Unlike the cellophane package, the polymer film does not allow the humidity which is destructive for the dried fruits. The packaging is useful for both disposable and repetitive use due to the Velcro-tape attached on the reverse side of the package.Proteins 5.0г Carbohydrates 53.0г Vitamins: Carotene 3.5мг B1 0.1мг PP 3.0мг C 4.0мг Energetic value: Kcal/kJ 227/949
